This 8.5 digital LCD writing tablet is the ideal thing for making notes for those things you always forget.  I saw this and instantly thought this would be great to go on my fridge in the kitchen.  It has magnets so you can put it anywhere you want.  It comes with a stylus pen which has a slot at the end of the board that you can just press it back into when you have finished writing.  This is reusable as the equivalent of 50,000 sheets of paper and the batteries can last more than 12 months before you need to change them.  It is advised to avoid continuous exposure to the sun and to avoid slashing or scratching the screen with sharp objects.
There is also a button on the side that you can either lock the information so it is not wiped or if you don't need it again you can just get rid of it at one press.  I use this for leaving messages at dinner time for my family, like put the oven on or defrost the veg, that kind of thing.  It is light weight and easy to use.  The size of this item is 250mm x 174mm x 6.5mm and is made of liquid crystal .  The bottom of  the tablet is non slip and on the on one end you can see the button to lock your message so it does not get wiped by accident.  There is also a hole which you can use to put your pen in and stand the board upright if you want to display a message somewhere else other than on the fridge door.
If you are going on that long car or train ride get one each for the kids and you can play games with them, or get them to draw their favourite animal or practice their spelling.  It will keep them occupied for hours writing and drawing.  Its also great if you run out of something and need to make a note to get it when you go shopping again.  Anyone can use this and it is good value for money.
